Invergordon is one of the largest towns situated on the edge of the Cromarty Firth. Home to the Port of Cromarty Firth, this town was at the heart of the oil and gas industry but is now transitioning into renewables by manufacturing parts for the expanding offshore wind farms.  The Port is also supporting the growing cruise-liner industry, inviting increased tourism into the region. Embodying much of the history of the Firth and the key issues it now faces, this town is the focus for the Intelligent Wilderness project.
